How to Upload and Post Photos on a Website

Upload pictures to a website is so easy that you can be sharing photos within minutes of reading this article. You can store images that you have scanned or downloaded from a website, received in emails or took yourself with a digital camera.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Find a website you are comfortable with. This can be a website that is shared only with people you know or a social or photo website, such as Gather, AOL, eBay, craigslist, Snapfish or Facebook.
Step2
Once you type in that website in your browser address bar, then find "Upload" or "Import Photos" or similar phrasing. You can also access the help and tutorials which will walk you through the upload. Find the folder where you stored the pictures.

It is helpful if you can upload more than one at a time, however, many times this is not possible.
Step3
Once you import or upload your pictures, be sure they are visible. If you upload a smaller version and try to enlarge it, the appearance will be distorted.
Step4
If you decide you no longer wish to have the photos on the website or want to make room for more, you can delete them or organize them into albums if the website allows.
Step5
See the links below this article for additional tips on digital photography and photo storage.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you take pictures with your camera phone, you can remove the memory card and place it in your printer or computer and download your photos that way. They will still be saved in My Pictures. (Or hook up a USB cable).
  • Do not upload photos of other people's children or your family members without their consent.
  • Be aware that some can steal your photography work, so you may want to put a light watermark seal over it.
  • Author does not endorse any particular website or image software.

on 4/22/2008 Ohh, uploading a picture or photo is not a more technical job. But still very useful for newbie internet users but one generation older. Because new generation kids are well versed in using internet than matured adults now. Right? Anyway good article, keep up.
