Step 1
Start by facing and holding onto your partner. This step is completed while holding onto your partner at all times.

Step 2
Lead with your left food, which means that your left leg is extended to the left. Your right foot stays in the original position. This is the preparation position.

Step 3
Step to the left side on the first count. Allow the rest of your body to follow.

Step 4
Move your right foot backward so that you are able to rock backward on the second count.

Step 5
Step again. Bring your right foot forward until it is even with your left foot for the first Cha.

Step 6
Take a small step to the right and let your left foot follow the remaining two Chas.

Step 7
Take a small step with your right foot forward for the next 1 count.

Step 8
Rock forward with your body for the next 2 count.

Step 9
Bring your right foot back for the first Cha.

Step 10
Slide your right foot to the right, allowing your body to follow for the next two Chas.

Step 11
Repeat this movement for the basic side Cha Cha Cha.
