The kitchen is one room that you spend a good portion of your time in, so you may find it in need of a new look after a few years of the same style. You may think that redoing your kitchen will cost a fortune, which it could, but you can also do things such as painting and replacing hardware to give your kitchen a new look.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Paint or restain your cabinets if you don't like the look of your cabinets but can't afford to replace them. Another idea is to add crown molding to the top of your cabinets to give them a clean new look.

  2. Step 2

Replace the hardware on the front of your cabinets. Get an updated style that fits the new look for your kitchen. Something as simple as new hardware can bring a whole new feeling to your kitchen.

  3. Step 3

Redo your floor with one of the many inexpensive yet stylish options on the market. A laminate floor is a great option for hardwood without the high price.

  4. Step 4

Install a new sink. If you don't want to go as far as a new sink, adding a new faucet is an easy way to change the look of a sink area.

  5. Step 5

Add new lighting. Under cabinet lighting is a warm way to showcase your new kitchen. Replace any out of date light fixtures you may have. Add a dimmer switch to your lights to create ambiance.

  6. Step 6

Apply a fresh coat of paint to your walls. Pick a new color or just freshen up the old color.

  7. Step 7

Choose a theme and buy wall decor to go with it. For example, if you're a wine drinker, you could go with a vineyard theme. Pictures of wines, grapes and vineyards would fit into the kitchen.
