How to Create a Glue Stick Money Safe

When it comes to small money safes, you can find a million creative types on the market. However, just because we want a safe place to store our cash doesn't mean we have the extra money to spend on a fancy store-bought safe. Now you can create your own small, portable and discreet money safe from an ordinary glue stick in just a few minutes with only a couple dollars.

Things You'll Need

• Jumbo glue stick
• Scissors
• Super glue

Instructions

1. Use an empty jumbo glue stick to make your money safe if possible, to prevent wasting the glue. If you cannot scrounge up an empty jumbo glue stick, roll the glue so that it is all the way out and pull the glue from the tube. Discard the glue and roll the tube back down to the bottom.

2. Clean the inside of the tube with hot water so that your money does not stick to the inside of the tube. The hotter the water, the more easily the glue stick tube will come clean. Allow your tube to dry completely.

3. Snip off the inner core, which originally held the glue, near the bottom of the tube. Make sure that the tube is rolled all the way to the bottom before cutting.

4. Grip a tube of super glue with your thumb and forefinger and place the tube inside your empty glue stick. Squeeze a few drops of super glue onto the base of the tube where the small remaining core is sticking out. This will stop the base from twisting, preventing the pieces of your glue stick safe from falling apart while allowing extra space for your money.

5. Allow the super glue to dry completely and then place your money into the glue stick. Cover the stick with the cap.
