Instructions

  1. Make Baby a Photo Stocking

    • 1

Buy a large cloth or velvet stocking. Make sure it is a solid color without any design to distract from your photos.

    • 2

Use fabric paints to decorate the cuff, or top of the stocking, with the baby's name.

    • 3

Glue sequins or glitter around the edges of the stocking. Be sure to decorate both sides, and keep the middle free of decorations.

    • 4

Take a picture of your baby with Santa. Print the photo on an iron-on transfer and transfer it to a plain white piece of fabric.

    • 5

Cut around the photo on the fabric, leaving about 1/8-inch border. Glue the photo to the stocking with fabric glue.

    • 6

Use any colored ribbon to frame the photo. Glue strips of the ribbon on the stocking to cover the rough edges of the fabric.

Other Christmas Traditions to Start with Baby

    • 7

Buy baby a "Baby's First Christmas" ornament. Keep the tradition going by getting your child a new ornament each year. Find an ornament of their favorite character, book or activity of the year. Write the date on the ornament to remember each year's ornament.

    • 8

Make the traditional Christmas cookies and include baby by putting him in the high chair and giving a cookie to frost. Make sure you take a picture for the Christmas album, and continue the tradition each year.

    • 9

Let baby be a part of the Christmas tree selection. Take him to the tree farm or lot, even if you have to stay in the car with him because it's too cold. Take lots of pictures of your baby with the tree before and after its up.

    • 10

Give baby a Christmas book he'll always have and keep the Christmas tradition going by buying him a new book each year. Record your child's name and the date on the inside cover of each book.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use smaller photos to fit a new picture of your child with Santa each year, or make a new stocking each year with one large photo.
