1
Turn off the TV. Concentrate on homework without distractions like TV, telephone calls or friends. Listen to the radio if it helps you study. If you find you're spending more time signing than studying, turn it off.
-
2
Find a reasonably quiet study area. Study on a hard surface like a desk in your room or at the kitchen table if it's quiet. Keep the lights on bright to help you focus on your homework. Use a desk lamp or increase the wattage in your existing bulb.

3
Sit on a comfortable chair. If your chair is too hard, too high or low, you may be concentrating more on your aching back than your homework.
-
4
Keep study materials such as calculators, paper, pencils, erasers, a dictionary and other resources in an easily accessible area. Plan a permanent study area where these items are readily available.
-
5
Maintain a balanced diet. Eat according to the food pyramid and major food groups. The food you consume fuels your body and mind. A poor diet can ruin your ability to concentrate.
-
6
Restrict yourself when it comes to the computer. No instant messaging or web surfing is allowed while studying. Concentrate on your homework first, and then reward yourself with some fun computer time.
-
7
Take a break. When you feel burnt out or tired, take a 10-minute break and go to the bathroom, have a snack before getting back to work.
