Things You'll Need:
- Washcloth
- Petroleum-based lip balm
- Wax-based lip balm
-
Step 1
Exfoliate your lips before going to bed at night. Use a warm, wet washcloth to gently rub your lips, loosening the top layer of cells, which has become dry. Don't scrub too hard.
-
Step 2
Apply a generous amount of petroleum-based lip balm just before lying down to sleep.
-
Step 3
Use a wax-based lip balm on your lips when you get up in the morning. Make sure it has an SPF of 15 or better to keep your lips from getting sunburned, and keep the balm with you so you can reapply after eating or before going outdoors.
-
Step 4
Break the habit of licking your lips. This makes them feel better for a few minutes, but ultimately causes more chapping. It also removes the lip balm that is protecting your lips.
-
Step 5
Let your lips show. Don't hide your soft, kissable lips under a thick layer of lipstick or lip gloss. A natural look is almost always more attractive.
