Fresh breath dog treats are loaded with fresh parsley to freshen your dog's breath from sour to sweet. They are healthy treats for your best friend, with plenty of protein, vitamin C, iron and healthy natural fiber. These natural dog treats are even safe and healthy for human consumption.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Oil
  • 3 cups fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup carrots, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. bran flakes
  • 2¾ cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • Approximately 1 cup water
  1. Step 1

Oil two cookie sheets and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Mix the fresh parsley, chopped carrot, mozzarella cheese and olive oil in a small mixing bowl.

  3. Step 3

Stir the flour, bran flakes and baking powder together in a large mixing bowl. Add the parsley mixture to the flour mixture and stir it until it's thoroughly mixed.

  4. Step 4

Pour in about ½ cup of water, mixing as you add the water slowly. Add more water to make a moist dough.

  5. Step 5

Roll the dough until it's about ½ inch thick and cut it into biscuits with a cookie cutter or a glass. Re-roll the scraps and cut them too.

  6. Step 6

Bake the fresh breath dog treats for 20 to 30 minutes or until they're nicely browned.

  7. Step 7

Allow the treats to cool and harden on a rack. Store the fresh breath treats in a tightly sealed container. If you don't plan to use the treats within a few days, store them in the refrigerator or freezer.
