Nerf Blasters, footballs and the other Nerf products make for great battles, thanks to the soft nature of these fun toys that have been around for decades. Building a Nerf fighting fort gives your team a better chance at winning a Nerf battle because a fort offers the best protection from open fire from the "enemy."

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Decide how small or large you need your fort to be in order to win your battles and sketch it out. This decision determines the types of facilities to add to your Nerf fort like ammunition storage, seats and maneuvering as well as the fort's shape--triangular, rectangular, circular or square.
Step2
Organize your team and become their leader. Assign members of your troupe to do specific tasks to ensure all the work gets done swiftly and effectively. You want a fort that can withstand any attack. Ask a couple of members to find materials like rocks, tarps and other supplies to serve as the body and supports of the fort.
Step3
Locate two strong trees close together to work as the foundation of the Nerf fighting fort. Based on your sketch, measure out the dimensions of the fort. Decide where to stabilize two adjacent large sticks in the ground. Pick locations for your door and windows. The door needs to be near one of the trees as a safety precaution. The windows need to look out over the "battlefield" or where the enemy attacks.
Step4
Cut windows out of the tarp walls. Use sharp scissors or a special cutting tool. Make sure you keep the windows high and not too low to the ground where the enemy can sneak through and attack heavily.
Step5
Ask some team members to dig holes for the large sticks and secure the sticks in the ground. Wrap the tarp around the trees and large sticks.
Step6
Secure the tarp with nails and rope, being careful not to rip holes in the tarp. At the same time, get a member to arrange rocks on the perimeter of the fort's base.

Tips & Warnings

  • A great way to protect your fort is to dig a large hole near the fort and cover it with a tarp then dirt. When the enemy comes, he steps on the dirt-covered tarp and falls into the hole. Put some padding in the hole so no one gets hurt.
  • Painting symbols or emblems for your troupe of Nerf fighters on the outside of the fort is a fun, creative touch that identifies the fort as yours.
