How to Ensure all Users Have Local PC Administrator Rights

      Click the "Start" menu and right-click on "My Computer" to bring up a shortcut menu. Click "Manage" on that shortcut menu to bring up the "Computer Management" window.

      Select "Local Users and Groups" from the left side of the window. The Folders "Users" and "Groups" will display in the right pane. Double-click on the "Groups" folder to open the contents into the right pane.

      Right-click the "Administrators" in the right pane and select "Properties" from the shortcut menu to open the "Administrators Properties" dialog box.

      Click the "Add" button at the bottom of the "Administrators Properties" dialog box to display the "Select Users" dialog box. You should see the name of your computer in the "From this location" text box. If you do not, then click on the "Locations" button and select your computer from the list.

      Type "Everyone" (without the quotes) in the "Enter the object names to select (examples):" text box. Click the "OK" button to close the "Select Users" dialog box.

      Make sure that "Everyone" is displayed as a member in the "Administrators Properties" dialog box. Click the "OK" button to close the dialog box. You can now close out of the "Computer Management" window as well.
