How to Convince Anyone of Anything

The art of convincing is used everyday by politicians, sales people, parents and virtually every other member of society. People who can convince others of anything generally get ahead, since they're able to shape the world around them with facts.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Introduce what you're trying to convince someone of casually, as if it's a fact that you find nothing special or extraordinary about. If the person does a double-take or indicates that they think you're joking, act puzzled and bewildered that they didn't know the fact that you mentioned is true and well established.
Step2
Attach a commonly known fact to the idea that you're trying to convince the person of in order to back it up. For example, if you're trying to convince someone that a nut is a kind of fruit, say to the person, if he questions the assertion, "Then why do you think nuts grow on trees?"
Step3
Cite a reference book or article or the names of scholars, fictional or real, who did "studies" and have "data" on the idea that you're trying to pass over the person. Tell the person that you remember reading the studies and will try to find them but aren't sure where they are.
Step4
Continue to maintain your assertion adamantly since your strongest weapon in trying to convince someone of anything is perseverance. Bring other people into the convincing to back you up and discredit people whom the person you're convincing cites as having contrary knowledge.
