Step 1
Draw Mufasa's body by connecting two ovals, a larger oval for his front section and a smaller one for his hindquarters. It should appear that his shoulders are elevated above his hind section.
-
Step 2
Add a large oval for his face. Leave the mane and fascial details for later.
-
Step 3
Add his forelegs and his hindlegs. The forelegs, like the shoulders, should appear larger. Make the foreleg and hindleg on the opposite side of the body appear shorter than those on the front of the drawing to add depth. Make sure that you add joints that look like elbows into the back of all the legs and the hindlegs should have a larger, rounder thigh.
-
Step 4
Exaggerate the paws and add four crescent-shaped lines for claws.
-
Step 5
Add a thin tail curving off the rear of the body with a teardrop shaped tuft of hair on the end.
-
Step 6
Draw the mane out from the head in all directions and extend the mane down the back and the chest. Add some tufts of hair poking out in different directions and hanging in front of the face.
-
Step 7
Draw Mufasa's facial details by drawing a heart shaped nose first. Then draw a rectangular muzzle extending down from the nose and covering the chin. Draw a short line down from the nose and a horizontal line sloping downward at the edges for the mouth.
-
Step 8
Draw the eyes above the nose, with the bottom edge of the eyes flat towards the inside and sloping upward toward the outside. Add a smaller pupil inside the eye, and add thick, bent eyebrows above the eye. Make the eyes high on the face and give the eyebrows a drastic bend to show Mufasa's stern expression.
-
Step 9
Add several long whiskers from each side of the nose and two small semi-circular ears poking out of the mane.
