How to Boot Players in Halo

Ideally, you want to work together in Halo to make the best team possible. Unfortunately, a player may join your game without any skills or experience. If you feel that the person is not good enough to play with you and your team, you can boot the player out of the Xbox game.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide on the player that you wish to boot. Keep in mind that unless you are the host of the current match, you won't have the capabilities to boot other players from the game. This feature was designed to control the number of players getting booted during game play.

    • 2

Go to the start menu of the Halo game. If you want to see a list of current players in the game, hit the "Y" button on your controller.

    • 3

Find the person's name on the list. You'll have to hit "A" to bring up the available options for this player.

    • 4

Select the boot option from this menu. This should automatically boot the player from the Halo game. If it does not allow you to do this, then you may have to try again at a later time.

Tips & Warnings

  • On Halo 3, the Xbox Live design team has made it more difficult to boot players from your team. You need to wait for the boot screen to pop up on its own first before choosing this option.

  • Usually players only boot others when they have betrayed the team. Otherwise, you may have an angry player to contend with in future Halo games.
