Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Sharp knife
  • 1 Biro pen
  • 1 rubber band, medium sized
  • Wooden chopstick or wooden skewer
  • Paper plate

Step1
Cut the bottom of the Biro pen where the ink tube ends and discard the nib.
Step2
Cut around the top of the Biro pen. If you're careful, you can cut clear through the pen, but there's a risk that you may be squirted if you pierce the tube. Remove the ink tube and discard it. Remove the small black plastic mechanism and discard it, as well.
Step3
Cut about a quarter off of the top of the cap and replace the cap on the pen.
Step4
Slide a rubber band under the pen holder.
Step5
Sharpen the end of a chopstick or skewer. Load the skewer or chopstick into the barrel of the Biro pen launcher.
Step6
Launch the skewer or chopstick by pulling back the rubber band and letting it go.
Step7
Draw a target on a paper plate and prop it up in a safe place for target practice.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to use a medium-sized rubber band. A large or small rubber band won't work.
  • If you don't have a chopstick or a skewer, a 1/8-inch wooden dowel can be substituted. Cut the dowel to about 7 inches and sharpen the end.
  • A Biro pen launcher is for target shooting only.
