How to Use MSN on Ebuddy

Ebuddy allows you to easily manage all of your instant messenger contacts with a single log in and password. Log into your MSN instant messenger account, any other instant messenger accounts you might have and store all of your contacts in one place. With Ebuddy, checking your contacts' online status is a breeze and you can even use emoticons similar to MSN's emoticons.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Navigate to the Ebuddy website. You will use this website to log in to all of your instant messenger accounts.

  2. Step 2

    Click the "MSN" button in the left column. You are now prompted to sign in to MSN using your user ID and password. Click the other instant messaging icons in the left column to log in to their sites.

  3. Step 3

    Enter your MSN instant messaging user ID. You do not need a new user ID or password for Ebuddy.

  4. Step 4

    Input your MSN instant messenger password.

  5. Step 5

    Choose an online status from the Initial Status box. This will display on your MSN instant messenger account. Update your status along with your personal and away messages at any time.

  6. Step 6

    Add your chat contacts to Ebuddy by clicking the "Add A Contact" button.

  7. Step 7

    Insert some fun into your chat by clicking the "Emoticons" button and then select the emoticon of your choice.

Tips & Warnings
  • Navigate to the MSN website to create an MSN instant messenger user ID and password.
  • Ebuddy goes through firewalls, including those built by companies that block MSN instant messenger.
  • Keep your volume turned up because the taskbar doesn't flash when you have a new chat message.
  • The instant messenger applications open in separate windows.
  • You cannot update contact information from Ebuddy. You must make these updates directly on the instant messenger service's website.
