The creeper yo-yo trick is a variation of another trick called walk the dog. Both tricks begin the same and use the floor as an aid, however, they end differently. Although this trick is named creeper, the moves are performed in several swift fluid motions. Use this information to perfect this classic yo-yo trick.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Throw a fast sleeper by releasing the yo-yo with a wrist flick down and out at an angle. Allow the yo-yo to spin without bringing it back up.

  2. Step 2

Place the spinning yo-yo gently on a smooth surface, usually the floor. Send it as far forward from the performer as possible in one continuous motion.

  3. Step 3

Squat down from the standing position. Put the hand holding the yo-yo string on the floor at the same time.

  4. Step 4

Jerk the yo-yo line quickly one time to get the yo-yo moving towards the performer. Walk the yo-yo along the floor back to your hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice this trick in two steps when initially learning it. Start by mastering the release to the floor and finish by pulling the yo-yo back.
  • The trick is performed swiftly and you must keep the yo-yo spinning. The entire trick lasts less than 30 seconds.
  • Don't lose momentum at any point during the trick. If so, the yo-yo stops moving and the performer must start again.
