Weddings can be very expensive and one of the biggest expenses associated with weddings are the flowers. Most weddings require bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and decorative floral arrangements. Save a lot of money by doing this yourself, so use the tips here for adding pink heather to your corsages.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Floral tape
  • Flower
  • Green leaf
  • Pink heather
  • Scissors
  • Straight pin
  1. Step 1

Begin with one flower of choice. This is often a rose, but can be anything else from a daisy or a lily to a marigold.

  2. Step 2

Cut the stem of the flower down to 2 inches. Cut at an angle to best preserve the moisture in the flower.

  3. Step 3

Add one green leaf to the flower as a backdrop. The leaf should be relatively the same size as the flower. Choose the least attractive side of the flower for the leaf to sit.

  4. Step 4

Separate a bit of pink heather from a bunch. The bunch of pink heather should be large enough to see, but not overpowering to the flower.

  5. Step 5

Trim the pink heather to be about the same length as the green leaf, with two or three branches extending an inch or two longer than the flower and the green leaf. Place the pink heather right below the green leaf.

  6. Step 6

Wrap the stems of the flower, the green leaf and the pink heather together using floral tape. Floral wire is not needed because pink heather stems are strong. Don't over-wrap the stems, since a pin must go through the tape for securing on a lapel.
