Step 1
Start in a fighting stance. This can be a walking stance or a full front stance. The important part of your stance is to be sure that the leg you will kick with is in the back. So if you want to kick with your right leg, place your left leg in the front of your stance.
-
Step 2
Step forward with your kicking leg. A flying kick is a kick that you perform in the air while advancing toward your opponent. If you are not moving forward, the kick is a mid-air kick instead of a flying kick. Stepping forward with your kicking leg will get your momentum going toward your opponent.
-
Step 3
Lift your non-kicking leg and jump. After your step, your kicking leg is in front, so bring up your back leg as you jump. You leg should come up as if you are performing a front snap kick, so that your knee is about waist high. This will help propel your body up and forward.
-
Step 4
Perform a front snap kick while in the air with your kicking leg. You will drop your non-kicking leg while lifting your kicking leg. Snap your kicking leg forward to perform a strong front snap kick. Remember to keep your toes back and extend your leg fully.
-
Step 5
Return to your fighting stance. It is vitally important to return to a good fighting stance and keep your body protected when performing a flying front snap kick. A flying kick is a risk that comes with good rewards if it succeeds. If you don't make contact or make poor contact, through, you leave yourself open to a counter attack, so be prepared as you land.
