How to Use Stop Motion Pro Software for Animation

Stop Motion Pro is Microsoft Windows compatible software that allows users to create stop motion video. Stop Motion Pro is specifically targeted to inexperienced stop motion animators, although some experienced animators are beginning to use the software because of its easy setup. Stop Motion Pro allows users to convert frames into movies, add sound and edit slides.

Things You'll Need:

• Digital camera
• Firewire cord
• Computer equipped with fire wire connections
• Stop Motion Pro software

1. Connect a digital camera to your computer. Open the Stop Motion Pro animation program. Clicking on the program's icon on your computer desktop or find the program via the Start Menu.

2. Create a new project. A window appears and gives you the option to "Create a New Project." Select this option and give the stop motion animation project a name. Click "OK" to continue.

3. Choose the "Capture Type." A window appears and ask you where to capture the images from. Capture from a digital camera or a web cam.

4. Set up your animation scene and point the camera at the scene. Use a tripod to steady the camera if you have one. If you do not have a tripod, set the camera on a sturdy surface when you film the scene.

5. Click the "Capture" button to film a frame. The "Capture" button looks like a video camera at the bottom right-hand side of the computer screen.

6. Move your subject to the next step in the stop motion animation. Click "Capture" again. Repeat this process until you finish recording the movie.

7. Press the "Play" button at the bottom of the computer screen to preview the film. Save your animation.
