Things You'll Need:
- Ski boots
- Skis with bindings
- Ski poles

Step 1
Check the brakes. Make sure the rubber-tipped ski brakes are functioning properly. When your boot is out of the ski binding, the brake should hang down below the edge of the ski. This prevents the ski from sliding away from you on the ski hill. Push down on the heel area of the binding. The brake should move up and away from the bottom of the ski as to not interfere with your skiing.

Step 2
Stand on a flat surface. It is difficult to get in your ski bindings if you are on uneven snow or on a slope. If there is a slight grade to the area you are standing on, place your body and skis perpendicular to the slope to prevent sliding.

Clear the ice and snow from your ski boots. You can either knock your boots together, or bang on them with your ski pole. In order for the boots to fit properly in the bindings, there should be nothing between the boots and bindings. Scraping your boot against the back binding is a good way to remove snow, but make sure the snow you remove does not pack in the binding area.

Step 4
Align your toe in the front binding. The lip of the boot goes under the space in the binding.

Step 5
Center the back of your boot in the rear binding, and step down firmly. Make sure your rear binding snaps up with a click. Check to make sure the ski firmly attaches to your boot.

Step 6
Push on the rear binding with your ski pole to release the boot from the binding. This allows you to remove the ski from your boot.
