First made popular among young Latinos in the early 1990s, the sensual lyrics and gyrating dance moves of reggaeton are gaining prominence in the United States. With a number of unique steps, reggaeton is an adaptable form of dance that combines steps to form improvisational sequences. With a few tips, you can learn how to combine the step touch and head bob reggaeton steps into one stylish sequence.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep your movements smooth and fluid in this combo technique, as well as other reggaeton movements. This style of dance is characterized by elastic-like body movements, so practice each step of the combo, speeding it up to the beat of the music once you have mastered each part.

  2. Step 2

Stand with your feet about three feet apart and your toes turned out. Bend at the knees slightly and lean forward, placing your hands just above each knee. Throughout this reggaeton combo, remember that the sequence moves left, right, left and left, right, left, right and right.

  3. Step 3

Push your right arm against your right knee, straightening your arm and moving your torso to the left. Repeat on the left side, moving to the right and again to the left. As you make the upper body motion towards the left, step your right foot in quickly to your left and step your left foot out to the side, moving your entire body to the left. Continue the sequence, moving back and forth, left to right.

  4. Step 4

Bob your head left to right with the beat of the music as you dance through this reggaeton combo. Once you have gained confidence and skill, you can add this sequence to other steps to create your own unique dance combinations.
