Reggaeton is a musical style with its own form of dance, which combines classic Latin genres such as salsa and merengue with modern hip hop. Characterized by gyrating dance moves and sensual lyrics, reggaeton dance includes a number of interchangeable movements that can be arranged into sequences, such as the basic step touch. With a few tips, you can alter your step touch reggaeton sequence today.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Practice on fluidity when working on your reggaeton dance moves. This dance style is characterized by an elastic-like quality in the limbs, so make sure your movements are smooth and easy. Once you have mastered the step touch, a basic reggaeton dance move, it can be turned into a unique dance sequence all your own.

  2. Step 2

Move around the dance floor with your basic step touch move. Instead of keeping your step touch movements side to side, move yourself around in a circle. Use your left leg as your center point, and with each right step, move forward a little to create a circular pattern with the basic step touch.

  3. Step 3

Add a bit of variety to the basic step touch by adding in extra side steps. Step right and then left as normal, and then step right twice. Step left and then right as normal, and then step left twice. This is a simple change that can help spice up your moves.

  4. Step 4

Combine the three step touch variations together to create your own reggaeton step touch sequences. Even if you have yet to master more reggaeton moves, with these three simple steps you can start to move to the beat on the dance floor.
