Step 1
Understand that a reverse inflation is performed when you launch the paraglider in thermal wind conditions. The two methods of reverse inflations are the conventional and cross hands techniques.
-
Step 2
Perform a conventional reverse inflation. With your back to the wind, place the riser in front of you and face the paraglider. Clutch the brake and riser on the left side with your right hand. Hold the brake and riser on the right side in your left hand. Release only the risers when the paraglider is overhead, and maintain control of the wing with the brakes.
-
Step 3
Attempt a cross-hands reverse inflation. With your left hand, grab the left carabiner and follow it up to the "A" riser. Pull the brake out and hold it. In your left hand, hold the left brake and riser. In your right hand, hold the right side brake and riser. Cross the risers to make an "X." Bring the risers and brakes overhead evenly. Once the paraglider is in the air, release the risers but continue to grasp the brake for paraglider control. Pull the brakes back to bring the paraglider down to the ground.
