When doing any extreme sport, the most important factor to consider is safety. Making sure your equipment is fully functional and properly secure is something that should always be checked first. Before you go out and jump off a random high place using a paraglider, make sure to connect your harness.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Adjust the harness to your body. Make sure you have enough room to move and walk around, yet ensure the harness is fitted enough to hold your weight while in the air. You should feel secure yet free enough in the harness.
Step2
Turn around toward the paraglider after you have buckled the harness to hook the paraglider lines to the wings.
Step3
Hook the harness into the wing. Check that the lines are well connected to the parachute and are not tangled. Make sure that the A risers are connected to the top or the leading edge of the wing and the D risers are connected to the bottom or trailing edge of the wings of the paraglider.
Step4
Decide which way you are going to turn when you are going to launch. If you are going to turn left, spin the risers 180 degrees to the left. You can then turn around and face away from the paraglider and prepare to take off. The same instructions go for a right turn.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you need for any reason to get out of your harness after you have clipped in, never partially unclip. Take the entire harness off completely as to avoid any accidents that could occur if you partially unclip and then forget to clip something back in. Remember, safety first.
