A fun trick to pull out in the middle of a poker game is the magic poker chip trick. With this trick you can convince your poker buddies you're skilled at remote viewing, which is seeing the world through another person's eyes and knowing his thoughts.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Enlist the help of a friend. Before the poker game or during a break let one friend in on the trick and ask for her help. She will be involved in the trick, but it's important no one else knows she is involved.
Step2
Announce to the group you have learned the art of remote viewing. Some people may be puzzled, so tell them what remote viewing is and make up a good story about how you learned it.
Step3
Turn your back. Ask someone to pick any poker chip out and place it in the center of the table.
Step4
Ask for help from your prearranged accomplice. Ask the person you recruited to help you with the trick earlier to now place a pop can or bottle over the chip so it cannot be seen. Your friend must act like this is a spontaneous request and like he doesn't know what is about to happen.
Step5
Rely on your friend to tip you off on which chip is on the table. Work out the details before the trick. For instance, if the poker chip is white, plan for the tab on the can to point toward the 12 o'clock position. You can use the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions to represent other colors.
Step6
Pretend to practice your remote viewing magic. Turn back around and pretend to go into a trance. After you have made a good show, observe the signal left by your friend and announce the color of the chip.
Step7
Repeat the poker chip magic trick several times. This will prove you didn't just get lucky.

Tips & Warnings

  • You do not have to ask for your friend's help by name during the trick. This will reduce suspicion, but is risky. Your friend will have to be prepared to act quickly before someone else does without seeming too eager.
  • Have a backup plan. In case of a wise guy, plan a tip off in the event no chip is placed under the can or an object other than a poker chip is put under the can.
