Say you have locked yourself out of your car, and your car just so happens to be Japanese made. Well, this is your lucky day. If you don't want to call a locksmith, and you happen to have a "Japanese tool" handy, you can wriggle it through the window and unlock your doors. These only work if your lock is in an upright position and you have a thumb-lock door lock.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Slide the Japanese tool between the window and the rubber gasket. Slip it all the way down to where it is on the inside of the window.

  2. Step 2

Twist the Japanese tool a bit until you are able to catch it around the door lock. Give it a little tug, and voilĂ , you're no longer locked out of your car.

  3. Step 3

Work it around a bit to pull it out. This may not be easy to get back over to the side of the window. You may need to tilt it down to make it easier to manipulate. Once you get it lose, bring it back up and out the window.
