Left-handed golfers are often forgotten about or ignored by golf stores. Fitting for a leftie is much the same process of fitting for a right-handed golfer. It's essential to have properly fitted golf clubs to help you perform your best on the greens so follow these steps to fit a golf club for lefties.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Measuring a shaft length that relates to the height of the golfer is extremely important. Keep in mind that a longer shaft length is necessary for the golfer who is taller while a shorter shaft length is used for the shorter golfer.

  2. Step 2

Place a piece of tape called the "Lie Tape" on the head of the club. Take a couple of swings to see what part of the tape hits the ground.

  3. Step 3

Know that if the toe of the club hits the ground, the head can be angled by bending the shaft in an upright position. If the heel of the club is hitting the ground, then the shaft will be bent at more of an angle so the club head will lay flat on the ground.

  4. Step 4

Determine the type of shaft flex you need. A regular flex in needed for the golfers who have a slower swing, while a stiffer flex is used for those with a really fast swing.

  5. Step 5

Change the grip size until you feel comfortable.
