Step 1
Perform the kung fu toe slap as part of your regular practice to help you build a more powerful strike. While the kicking motion helps to increase strength and flexibility in the legs, slapping the toes on the upswing of the kick will toughen the muscles of your hands and increase the force behind your strikes.
-
Step 2
Stand straight with your feet together and your back straight. Lift both of your hands overhead with your palms rotated so that the fingertips of each hand are almost touching and your thumbs are pointing down. Your elbows should be opened out to the side.
-
Step 3
Take a step forward with your left foot to add momentum to the kick. Kick up fast and strong with your right foot, pointing your toes. Try to kick as high as possible, and at the peak, slap your toes with your right hand.
-
Step 4
Release your foot, stepping forward and swing up with a left kick, repeating the kung fu toe slap. Continue the slapping movement, alternating sides to build your hand and leg strength as well as your agility.
