Step 1
Bring up the video clip you want to edit in Final Cut Pro 5 by clicking on the "Import" option or "Open" option. This pulls the video into the workstation.
-
Step 2
Open the "Speed" menu. A small window appears on the screen. Click the box next to "Frame Blending" to turn on the frame transition. By default, it turns off when you begin to edit.
-
Step 3
Change the speed of the frames in the window. If you want a low speed use frame blending. Frame blending creates a blurred frame between 2 adjacent frames. For example, if you want to use slow motion, the frame blending option makes the slow motion appear more realistic.
-
Step 4
Double-click on the clip and pull it into the viewer. Click on the "Motion Blur" tab at the top of the viewer. This opens the Motion Blur window. Click on the box next to "Motion Blur."
-
Step 5
Choose the amount of blur. The slide bar adjusts the image by the percentage of blur in the frame. The more you move it to the right, the blurrier the motion becomes.
-
Step 6
Select the number of samples in the motion from the drop down-menu beside the word "Samples." The number of samples is the number of blocks that blur the motion. For a slight blur, choose a 4 or 5. For an intense blur, choose 32 or more.
