Getting into computer animation is pretty easy when you have the right software. The iClone program enables you to easily create great characters with very little learning curve. Not only is it easy to animate characters using iClone, it's also easy to custom-make them as well. Here's how get started by picking a body and loading a face for your characters using iClone.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open iClone and save your work in a new file. When you first load iClone, one of the female default characters loads automatically, but you can quickly and easily change that.

  2. Step 2

Choose a new character template by clicking "Tools," then "Character." Find the templates to select from on the right side of the screen. Choose from a wide array of skin colors, sizes, builds and profiles. Choose a plain template so you can really get creative with your character.

  3. Step 3

Change your view to the face by clicking the icon and clicking "Face." This zooms up to your character's face and gives you options for modification.

  4. Step 4

Begin to modify your character's face by clicking "Tools," then "Load Image." Then select a file that has a picture of the face you'd like to load on your character.

  5. Step 5

Use the "Select" tool to encircle the face out of your photo and then click the check mark. This will load your face into iClone's feature-analyzing tool. Match up the software's placement of eyes, nose and lips to actually place a "mask" of your photo on your iClone character.
