Things You'll Need:
- Linen cards
-
Step 1
Get a deck of linen-texture cards. With practice, you can perform the reverse one-hand-fan card trick with any deck, but beginners should use a linen deck because this is the ideal texture for fanning cards.
-
Step 2
Place your index finger and thumb in the top-right corner of the deck. One finger must be on each side, and you'll use these two fingers primarily to hold the deck.
-
Step 3
Bend your middle finger, ring finger and pinkie. The tips of these fingers must be touching the edge of the card deck.
-
Step 4
Use the three bent fingers to fan the cards out. Push the cards by starting with the middle finger, then following with the ring finger and finally the pinky. Hold your thumb and index finger in place while pushing with the other fingers.
-
Step 5
Push with your index finger. At the end of the card fan, give the cards a little push with your index finger to open up a larger fan. This is important because with a one-hand fan, it can be difficult to achieve a wide fan.
-
Step 6
Use the reverse one-hand card fan in combination with other tricks. Perform the fan to demonstrate to an audience that the deck is a normal 52-card deck and also to spread the cards out so a volunteer can choose one.
