The single-rose bouquet is an economical yet beautiful addition to your wedding decor. They can be used for mothers, attendants or even flower girls. Just be sure to take into consideration your wedding's style and colors before choosing the roses for your bouquet.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Rose
  • Dethorning tool
  • Accent greenery
  • Ribbon
  • Water tube
  1. Step 1

Select a fresh, perfectly formed rose for your single-rose bouquet. You'll want one in the right color with a long stem.

  2. Step 2

Strip the rose stem of thorns and most or all of the leaves. Dethorning tools are available at garden or craft stores and can help make this process faster.

  3. Step 3

Add accent greenery or flowers, such as fern, baby's breath or other common bouquet fillers. This isn't required, but it can make your bouquet look more sophisticated and add some heft.

  4. Step 4

Wrap the stem of your single-rose bouquet in ribbon, colored foil or plastic. You can knot the ribbon around the stem and let the ends dangle, tie a bow or even wrap two pieces of ribbon in a criss-cross pattern from the bottom to the top.

  5. Step 5

Attach a water tube to the bottom of your single-rose bouquet to keep it fresh and fragrant. These tubes allow your rose bouquet to be carried around all day and still retain some water instead of drying out.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to select the freshest possible flowers. These roses will last longer and look brighter. Look for color fading, browning at the bottoms and wilting petals and leaves to determine freshness.
