Things You'll Need:
- Rose
- Dethorning tool
- Accent greenery
- Ribbon
- Water tube
-
Step 1
Select a fresh, perfectly formed rose for your single-rose bouquet. You'll want one in the right color with a long stem.
-
Step 2
Strip the rose stem of thorns and most or all of the leaves. Dethorning tools are available at garden or craft stores and can help make this process faster.
-
Step 3
Add accent greenery or flowers, such as fern, baby's breath or other common bouquet fillers. This isn't required, but it can make your bouquet look more sophisticated and add some heft.
-
Step 4
Wrap the stem of your single-rose bouquet in ribbon, colored foil or plastic. You can knot the ribbon around the stem and let the ends dangle, tie a bow or even wrap two pieces of ribbon in a criss-cross pattern from the bottom to the top.
-
Step 5
Attach a water tube to the bottom of your single-rose bouquet to keep it fresh and fragrant. These tubes allow your rose bouquet to be carried around all day and still retain some water instead of drying out.
