How to Remove Eyeliner Smudges

If you smudge your eyeliner, follow these steps to remove the smudge quickly and effectively so that you can head out the door knowing that you look great.

Things You'll Need

• Cotton swabs
• Eye makeup remover
• Makeup sponge
• Foundation

Instructions

1. Keep either cotton swabs and eye makeup remover or a makeup sponge and a bottle of foundation handy at all times to remove eyeliner smudges.

2. Place a small amount of eye makeup remover on the cotton swabs, and lightly dab it over the eyeliner smudge to remove it.

3. Use a triangular-shaped makeup sponge with a bit of foundation if you don't have cotton swabs and eye makeup remover. The triangular-shaped makeup sponge is easy and flexible to use when removing smudges from hard-to-reach corners around your eyes.

4. Pour a bit of foundation onto your hand or wrist, and dab the makeup sponge in the foundation.

5. Erase the eyeliner smudge with the makeup sponge and foundation by gently wiping the sponge over the smudged area until you've successfully removed it.

Tips & Warnings

• Be careful to wipe only the smudged area with the cotton swabs or the makeup sponge. This way you won't end up erasing or messing up all of the surrounding makeup.

• Don't wipe the smudge with your finger or with water. You may end up smearing your eyeliner even more and making a bigger mess than you started with.
