Things You'll Need:
- Square sheets of paper
- Scissors
- Tape or glue
-
Step 1
Fold your paper into four sections by making two valley folds when making an origami windmill. To do this, simply fold the paper in half, flatten it out so it lies flat, turn it sideways and fold it in half again. Make sure all of the folds you make are precise and that the edges match.
-
Step 2
Do the same again, but this time from corner to corner.
-
Step 3
Take the straight edges of the paper and fold them over so that they line up on the middle line in the middle of the paper.
-
Step 4
Turn the corners of one side over until the edges line up with the outer edge of the paper and the midpoint. The corner will look like triangles. Open the fold you just made and do the same to all of the other corners.
-
Step 5
Open the flaps created when you turned the corners over to make triangles on the ends. Use your thumbs to open the flaps. Fold the section between the flaps up so the result looks like a boat. Do the same on both ends when making an origami windmill.
-
Step 6
Grasp the top-left corner and fold it up so that the point faces away from the center. Do the same with the bottom-right corner. Do this for all the corners to make an origami windmill. Make sure you press down as you make the creases to keep the folds in place.
-
Step 1
Use the origami windmill as a base when making an origami pomander.
-
Step 2
Do smash folds with all of the points by opening each point and folding it down toward the center until you have a square. All of the points of the triangle will meet in the middle.
-
Step 3
Make kite folds with each of the corners that you folded down in step 2. Firmly fold the outer edges of each corner in toward the corner's center. Do this for each corner.
-
Step 4
Create squash folds for each of the corners you folded into kite folds. Keep pressure on the top of the kite fold and press the rest of the corner open. Make sure all of the creases line up when making an origami pomander. When you are finished, the center folds will resemble the center of a flower.
-
Step 5
Turn the paper upside down on the table.
-
Step 6
Fold each of the corners down toward the center.
-
Step 7
Cut a circle from another piece of paper for the origami pomander.
-
Step 8
Affix the cut circle into the center of the origami pomander with glue, tape or some other adhesive.
