How to Draw Santa Claus
Christmas cartoons come in handy for Christmas cards, decorations and for fun crafts for children. Finishing Christmas character cartoons is simple enough for kids to learn with little instruction. The basic design of Santa Claus is a series of shapes that blend together.

1
Begin with a circle for the head and a larger circle for the abdomen. Remember that the larger circle should be big enough to represent Santa's legendary "bowl full of jelly."
-
2
Draw in the facial features on the head circle. If may be helpful to begin with the beard so that you know there will be room for both. Begin with the facial features if you will be downplaying the beard. Some Santas also wear glasses, but they are not required.

3
Add in the limbs. The arms and legs will be fairly straight parallel lines. The thickness of the limbs will be your personal preference, but most drawings depict them as fairly thick to match the round middle.
-
4
Finish the drawing with Santa's clothing. Santa wears gloves on his hands and boots on his feet. Draw a belt around the middle of the stomach and a hat on top of the head. The hat usually has a puffy ball at the end. The coat can either have buttons down the front, or it can have a plain front.

5
Color in the drawing with red and white for the clothing and black for the boots. Most Santa cartoons depict a white trim around the pants and coat and white at the cuffs.
