General Tso's chicken is delicious, but can be very involved and time- consuming to make. However, with the assistance of your favorite Chinese restaurant, you can create a quick and delicious General Tso's chicken salad that will be perfect for a family meal or special guests.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 order of General Tso's chicken
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 head of lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 5 green onions, chopped
  • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. sherry
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. seasoning salt

Step1
Visit your favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurant and purchase one order of General Tso's chicken. Place it in the refrigerator to cool until the salad is ready.
Step2
Make dressing for the General Tso's salad by whisking the extra-virgin olive oil, sherry, soy sauce, sugar and seasoning salt in a small mixing bowl.
Step3
Toss the green salad with the dressing just before you're ready to serve.
Step4
Mix the chilled General Tso's chicken into the tossed green salad. Serve on individual salad plates.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have time, General Tso's chicken made from scratch at home is healthier and may taste better, but keep in mind that it's very time consuming.
