How to Give the Homie Handshake
When it comes to shaking hands with your friends or on the street, there's a whole different vibe than when you shake hands with your banker. The homie handshake is a more personal way of greeting someone you know well. While there are many variations, there are some traditional components. Here's how to give the homie handshake.
Instructions

1
Offer your hand as you would during a normal handshake.
-
2
Slap the other person's hand lightly. There should be a real casual vibe to this part of the handshake.
-
-
3
Rotate your hand so that it is perpendicular to the ground (the tips of your fingers will be facing up.)
-
4
Close your fist simultaneously grasping your friend's hand.
-
5
Reverse the direction of your hand by rotating it back to the original position.
-
6
Slide your hand away from your friend, maintaining contact with their skin until your fingertips lose contact.
-
7
Snap your fingers off the side to complete the homie handshake.
-
8
Create your own homie handshake. This is quite popular to do with everything from sports players on a team down to people signifying which neighborhood they are from.
