Latina hairstyles have a unique look in form and style. There are a few specific methods to style the hair to get an attractive Latina hair look. Most of these require long hair that is straight or wavy. To get the correct style, follow these steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Straighten your hair if it is overly curly. The Latina look requires waves or straight hair, but very curly hair will need to be flat ironed or gelled down.

  2. Step 2

Part the hair on the side and move the bangs over to that side. The bangs should be heavily gelled so that they lie flat against the side of the head in a slanted line to the side.

  3. Step 3

Gel the rest of the hair enough to make it slick. Comb the gel through every part of the hair so that it is evenly coated. There should be no pockets of gel left behind.

  4. Step 4

Style the hair so that it falls in wavy rings at the sides and the back. If you are putting it into a ponytail, make the ponytail very high rather than on the back of the head. It should also be off to one side instead of straight in the middle of the head. Gel the hair against the head straight and gel the hair in the ponytail in waves.

  5. Step 5

Look for any stray ends and gel them down. The overall look should be neat and clean with no fuzzy edges. Get a pair of large hoop earrings to wear with the hairstyle for a more authentic look.

on 5/21/2009 Whoever wrote this post on the "Latina Hair" is seriously not only an inadequate writer but an inadequate thinker. It is obvious that this post is not trying to provide any help on hairstyling but to mock a whole ethnic group of women because of the style preference of a few. In case your pea sized brain is not aware of the physical diversity among Latina women- I would like to inform you that Latinas have the privilege of flaunting straight, wavy, curly, blonde, brown, red, and black hair – whether it is long, short, or medium length wearing it up or down. Most importantly I think you have missed the most essential element of the Latina women- it is not in a hair style it is a matter of attitude- something people like you will never achieve because of lack of character.
