Things You'll Need:
- Foam rollers
- Wide-tooth comb
-
Step 1
Wash and condition your hair as usual, towel it dry and remove the tangles with a wide-tooth comb. Allow your hair to dry until it's just a little damp before you begin to roll it.
-
Step 2
Start rolling a section of hair under onto the foam roller. Continue to roll it towards your head. Clamp the roller lock in place when you've finished winding it.
-
Step 3
Roll small sections of hair at a time, starting at the center front and working down the back of your head. If you're rolling a little girl's hair, you may just want to roll the ends rather than all over.
-
Step 4
Sleep on your rollers, if you prefer. They aren't as comfortable as rag curlers but are a lot softer than brush rollers and less damaging to your hair.
-
Step 5
Remove your foam rollers carefully. Small strands of hair that end up twisted in the roller clamp bar may be difficult to remove.
-
Step 6
Replace your rollers if the foam becomes compacted. Repeat use causes them to lose their resiliency and become misshapen. They usually last longer if you don't sleep in them.

on 10/31/2009 From personal experience, I have found that the curls will end up looking too controlled and not so good if you put the hair on the curlers in a systematic order or pattern. Roll up the hair randomly all over your head for the best results.
Also, the amount of hair that goes on the roller should be less near the front, more in the back.
