Instructions

  1. Soap and Water Cleaning

    • 1

Unplug the earbuds from the iPod.

    • 2

Mix mild soap with warm water. Lightly dampen a lint-free cotton cloth with the soap and water mixture. Wipe the earbuds gently with the damp cloth. Don't get any water into the holes.

    • 3

Run the cloth under warm running water. Rinse it to remove all soap. Wring the cloth to dry. Wipe the earbuds to remove any soap residue.

    • 4

Rub a clean, dry lint-free cloth over the earbuds to dry them.

    Disinfect with Hydrogen Peroxide

    • 5

Purchase a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution or disinfectant towelettes. This product is available at drug stores and supermarkets.

    • 6

Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with the peroxide and wipe the earbuds gently.

    • 7

Wipe with pre-moistened towelettes that are designed to clean hearing aids if you don't feel comfortable using a hydrogen peroxide solution. These towelettes are guaranteed not to damage silicone, plastic or rubber.

    • 8

Dry the earbuds gently with a clean, lint-free dry cloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Prevent dirty earbuds by keeping your ears clean. See a physician for proper cleaning if you have issues with excess wax.

  • Avoid using alcohol or alcohol wipes to clean your earbuds. Alcohol can damage the earbuds and cause skin irritation.
