With the right products, hairbrush and time, you can blowout your hair at home so that it looks like you just walked out of the salon. A good blowout will look sleek and stylish for several days.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair gel or straightening cream
  • Wide tooth comb
  • Round brush
  • Hair dryer
  • Hair straightener
  1. Step 1

Shampoo and condition your hair with a moisturizing product. This will protect your hair from the heat of the blow dryer and the hair straightener. Blot your hair dry with a towel. Wringing your hair or rubbing it harshly with a towel can break hair strands.

  2. Step 2

Apply hair gel or hair straightening serum. If your hair is wavy, use a strong hold gel. If it's curly use a straightening serum or cream. Apply the gel or cream to all of your hair beginning with the roots and rubbing down to the ends. Once you've applied the gel, use a wide-toothed comb to release any tangles and smooth the product throughout your hair.

  3. Step 3

Dry your hair with a blow dryer. Use the dryer and your fingers to lift and seperate your hair to get rid of most of the moisture.

  4. Step 4

Seperate your hair into 2-inch sections when it's almost dry. Starting with the bottom layer, unclip a section of the hair and begin blow drying it slowly. Using a round brush, roll your hair loosely from the ends up to the roots. Hold the blow dryer facing down onto the hair at the roots. As you dry your hair, slowly and gently pull the brush out of your hair while you move the blow dryer along.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Step 4 on the remainder of your hair. The more time you spend blowing out your hair, the longer it will last.

  6. Step 6

Use a hair straightener to impart shine and sleekness. Apply the straightener to 2-inch pieces of hair at a time, starting with the bottom sections.

  7. Step 7

Gently massage a pea-sized dab of hair cream into your hair to remove any remaining hair frizz.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a sleeker look, use a paddle brush instead of a round brush when blowing out your hair.
