How to Kill Yawn in Resident Evil

Yawn is a giant snake that used to live in Spencer Mountain. He was infected with the T-Virus and is poisonous, so be careful if he bites you. You will encounter Yawn twice during your mission. The first time you won't be able to kill him, but you can on the second try.

Instructions

First Meeting With Yawn

1. Go to the attic of the mansion by unlocking the door with the Shield Key. Go forward into the room until you see Yawn. If you're playing as Jill, Richard will appear to help you out. If you're not playing as Jill, you will be on your own, but you can still beat Yawn and collect the Death Mask.

2. Continue shooting Yawn with the shotgun until he appears dead. If you're Jill, Yawn will arise to strike you, but Richard will jump in your way. He'll be eaten alive instead.

3. Shoot Yawn more until he retreats. When he does and you're Jill, collect Richard's assault shotgun, the Death Mask and the shotgun shells.

4. Go the Drug Room and take some serum if you were bitten by Yawn. This will help you heal so you can continue the game.

Second Meeting With Yawn

5. Find the library of the mansion and unlock the door with the Helmet Key.

6. Go down the ladder and be prepared to immediately start shooting Yawn. He will appear before you reach the end of the ladder so get ready to move quickly.

7. Shoot Yawn with your assault shotgun repeatedly being careful not to be bit by him. You can move around the bookshelves to provide some protection.

8. Continue shooting Yawn until he falls and dies. As he falls, he will hit his head on a bookshelf knocking off books. Open the books and grab the Wind Crest inside one of them.

9. Leave the library room while grabbing the herbs by the entrance on your way out. If you were bitten by Yawn, take the herbs again.

Tips & Warnings

• Since you can't kill Yawn the first time you meet him, it is possible to just run by him and grab the Death Mask and get out. Fighting him may just waste some of your ammunition.
