Scooters are inexpensive, lightweight and great on gas mileage. While most scooters don't offer the same speed as your average motorcycle, you can do some amazing scooter tricks. Start practicing the rodeo trick today.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scooter
  • Long ramp (optional)
  • Short ramp (optional)
  • Helmet
  • Elbow and knee pads
  1. Step 1

Protect yourself when attempting the rodeo or any other scooter tricks. While these tricks can be fun, a trip to the hospital isn't. Always wear a helmet and protect your elbows and knees with pads.

  2. Step 2

Find the right location for your trick. You need a steep downward slope and an upward slope with a semi-sharp peak so that you can catch some air. If you don't have the perfect location, create one by using a long ramp to build speed and a short, low ramp to get some air. Don't attempt to catch your air on a high ramp, as the landing can seriously damage your scooter.

  3. Step 3

Get some speed by starting on the top of a hill or coming down a long ramp. The goal is to have your scooter at the highest possible speed when you hit your peak point so that you can get both wheels off the ground and gain some air time to complete the trick.

  4. Step 4

Pull the handlebars in towards you the moment you hit your peak point at the top of the slope or at the end of your short ramp. As you feel yourself catch air, lift one hand and both feet off the scooter. Land the rodeo trick by bringing yourself back onto the scooter before hitting the ground.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice catching air on your scooter before attempting the full rodeo trick. Once you can comfortably land and have an idea of the time you have in the air, begin trying to release your hands and feet.
  • A bad landing can damage you and your scooter, so practice knowing the risks to you and your bike.
