If you have been wondering what you can do with all that spare change you've been saving for a rainy day, try making a nickel stack. Without glue or any type of adhesive, you can create a stack from those old nickels that will resemble modern artwork.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start with three nickels. Place the coins together so that they form a tight triangle. Make sure that you are working on a smooth, steady surface.

  2. Step 2

Stack the second group of three nickels on top of your first three coins, offsetting them by about 1 centimeter. That is, the center hole of your second three-nickel triangle should be directly above the first. However, the coins should be placed slightly to one side.

  3. Step 3

Repeat the triple-nickel coin stacks until you have at least seven layers. The more you stack the more dramatic the final product.

  4. Step 4

Practice patience. Your stack will probably fall more than once before its completed. If you find that you just can't get the coins to stack, try decreasing the offset space from stack to stack to create more stability.

Tips & Warnings
  • Get two rolls of brand new nickels from the bank to create a super-shiny coin stack.
  • Once you have mastered the nickel stack, try the same trick with lighter weight, smaller coins such as pennies or dimes.
