Turning a pineapple plant into chunks for eating is a skill you can learn in a few minutes and spend a lifetime perfecting. You can peel the fruit and cut it into rings, or quarter the fruit and then remove the tough center and skin.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Pineapple
  1. Step 1

Cut the stem off the pineapple by holding the pineapple plant on it's side on the cutting board and slicing through it with your knife.

  2. Step 2

Slice off the top and bottom of the pineapple plant to give yourself a flat surface to work with. Place the pineapple plant upright on the cutting board and hold it firmly while you cut the edges away in strips. Work slowly to be safe.

  3. Step 3

Portion out evenly sized slices by cutting through the entire pineapple to remove the core. Stack several rings together and slice through them to make chunks.

  4. Step 4

Make chunks another way by cutting off the stem and cutting through the length of the pineapple to make long sections. Remove the tough core from each section, then peel the skin off.

  5. Step 5

Remove the skin from the fruit using your knife. Line up several sections of fruit and cut them into chunks.
