Keeping a prayer record or journal is a good way to watch the power of prayer unfold in your life. Keeping track of any answers that your prayers receive can encourage persistent practice. Over time, you can track how prayer has helped you through life's ups and downs.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Bring your journal with you when you travel. If you pray at specific times during the day, keep your prayer record with you as you pray.
Step2
Create a system for keeping track of answers, requests and praises. All three should be a part of your prayer journal. The answer part could be as simple as writing "yes" or "no" and the date next to the request once it has been answered. Review the answers periodically.
Step3
Write down all the items you've petitioned for during your prayers. Include both your needs and the prayers other people have asked you to make on their behalf. If you're in a prayer group, write down the name of the person and her requests so that you can go back and ask her for an update on her progress.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some requests aren't answered after only one prayer. Continue asking and keep tracking in your journal until you have an answer.
  • Use shorthand or a personal code to keep your journal confidential.
