Jack Russell terriers are wonderful dogs and generally known as a happy breed. You can keep your Jack Russell content if you're willing to invest the time to give it the affection and attention it craves.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Walk or run your Jack Russell daily. These dogs are high energy and need to run, play and romp. It's best to have a yard or a place that you can take your Jack Russell Terrier to run or walk everyday.

  2. Step 2

Take your terrier with you on outings. These dogs are natural hunters and love to chase, run and swim. Work and train your Jack Russell from an early age, so that it can join for outdoor activities.

  3. Step 3

Keep your terrier clean. These dogs like to dig, run through the woods and roll in the grass and leaves. Keep your dog bathed and brushed. You'll both be happier if your dog is clean.

  4. Step 4

Socialize your terrier with other dogs, cats and small children from the time it is a puppy. Unless your Jack Russell is "socialized" early, he will not learn to tolerate other animals and children.
