Cell phones cause a distraction during times when people should be attentive to their surroundings. When you're on your cell phone, you are a prime target for criminals. Since cell phones are a way of life for many people, it's important to know how you can use your phone to defend yourself against an attacker.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Fight face-to-face by holding your cell phone between your middle and index fingers. When you punch, aim the cell phone at the nose and eyes of your attacker.

  2. Step 2

Close your fist around your cell phone to add firmness to your punches. Hold the cell phone with the bottom sticking out and strike your attacker in the nose, using your fist and cell phone like a hammer.

  3. Step 3

Thrust the phone antenna into your attacker's eyes, neck or the soft area below the ear, near the jaw line. This gives you a few seconds to either get away or fight back harder.

  4. Step 4

Hold the phone, with part of it sticking out of your fist, and slam it into your attacker's Adam's apple. When the assailiant leans forward in pain, strike him repeatedly in the head with your phone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always be aware of your surroundings when talking on your cell phone.
  • If possible, try to call for help before you start fighting back. This works best when a hostile situation is escalating, and you fear that you'll end up in a fight.
