Everyone at some time in their life has committed a sin. People are human beings and human beings sin. Sin can cause extreme feelings of guilt because your conscience can't let it go. This guilt will prevent you from living a healthy and happy lifestyle. Follow these steps to learn how to justify a sin.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Accept the fact that you have committed a sin. This is the first step in letting it go. A sin is a deliberate violation of a religious or moral principle.
Step2
Consider the fact that sin, as well as religion, is a social construction of reality. Just as religions vary, so does the definition of what is right or wrong. A sin to you might not be a sin in the eyes of someone else.
Step3
Justify your sin by reminding yourself that the sin you committed is only a sin to some people. In other cultures or countries it may not be a sin. It may be a way of life.
Step4
Think of all the good things you have done for other people in your life. It should counteract the sin you have committed and justify it. After all the good you have done you were due to commit a sin.
Step5
Learn from the sin you have committed and don't do it again. A sin usually hurts someone else more than it does you. Apologize to any person that you hurt when you committed the sin.

Tips & Warnings

  • Justifying a sin may result in you committing the same sin again. Accept the fact that you have committed a sin and move on from it. Try not to make the same mistake again.
