How to Join the Thieves' Guild in Oblivion

In "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," you may hear rumors of the Gray Fox and the Thieves' Guild. Both the man and the guild are elusive, which makes joining the Thieves' Guild quite tricky. Once you do, you'll enjoy the benefits.

Instructions

1. Go to the Imperial City and find a "Wanted" poster for the Gray Fox. Read the poster.

2. Speak to a beggar. Make sure his disposition is at least 70. The beggar will ask you "Are you looking for him?" Answer, "Yes, I want to work with him." He will give you instructions.

3. Go to the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. This district is divided into two parts by a wall. On one side, you have the port. On the other, you will find the residential part of the waterfront district. Go to the residential part and stick near the wall.

4. Find the abandoned shack and wait in the garden until midnight. Two thieves will approach you. If you talk to one, they will tell you that they too are waiting to join the Thieves' Guild.

5. Wait until midnight, when Armand Christophe shows up. Talk to him about the Grey Fox. This begins the quest "May the Best Thief Win," which is your initiation into the Thieves' Guild in "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion."
